Boarding-up Services
If you’ve had an accident late at night, we won’t be able to replace your glass immediately. In this case, we will board up your window with plywood boards to maintain building security, and then arrange for the glass to be fitted once it is available.
We operate a 24-hour rapid-response boarding-up service to give you peace of mind when you need it most. We can also board-up large commercial premises when the owner has vacated the building, or is in the process of a large-scale refurbishment, where the building needs to be protected against squatters and other intruders.
All boarding-up jobs include a free quote on replacement glass if required.
Barnes toughened glass services
Express Barnes glazing experts offer a variety of safety glass services including toughened glass installations and replacements. Toughened glass will usually shatter into small fragments instead of sharp shards when broken, making it less likely to cause severe injury and deep lacerations. This is particularly useful for certain frames such as cat flaps, glass doors and tables.
Our Barnes toughened glass normally takes three to five working days to order in for both single and double-glazed options. This glass is recommended for Barnes residential customers, as the glass shatters into relatively harmless fragments upon impact, as opposed to the larger, more dangerous shards caused by breakage of normal glass. However, due to the security risk of having a large hole when the glass has been shattered, we do not recommend this for our Barnes commercial customers, whom we offer laminate glass to instead.
